In 2004, Nua started four games at right defensive end. He collected 34 tackles (17 solos) with six sacks, eight stops behind the line of scrimmage and a forced fumble. In 23 games with the Cougars, Nua delivered 54 tackles (30 solos) with 10 sacks for minus-72 yards, 16 stops for losses of 94 yards and two quarterback pressures. He caused two fumbles, recovered another and deflected two passes.
