NFL to Regional Networks: Buh,. Bye
In what was an expected outcome, the owner's voted to eliminate the regional networks the Dallas Cowboys and Atlanta Falcons have. The vote was 31-1 with one abstention.
This shouldn't come as a shock to anyone as the NFL has been promoting the NFL Network heavily. It's a decent channel and I am sure they wanted to control more NFL content.
It does raise some interesting questions and the NFL Channel:
- Will they be including regular season games?
- Will they exclude local TV rights bids for preseason NFL games?
- How will they leverage the NFL Channel as a regional resource?
