Ok, I made that up. That's the way it should have been, but Phil Mickelson pulled it out in a playoff. Rich Beem hasn't won since the PGA Championship in 2002 and that bums me out.

Rich Beem is my favorite pro, but during this tournament Phil Mickelson had the guts to pull it out.

It was a four way playoff with Mickelson, Beem, Atwal and Olazabal. The first playoff hole found Beem and Mickelson left and they made quick business of the second playoff hole.

Come to the third playoff hole and same situation. When the fourth playoff hole started it looked to be one of the best playoffs ever, but it wasn't meant to Beem. Mickelson made a great shot that Beem couldn't match and that was history.
