US Women's Hockey Team Wins World Champsionship - US 3 Canada 1

I know it's late, but with the NHL season problems I thought I'd hold off till the weekend to comment on the US Women's hockey team winning the world championship. They defeated the Canadians in Sweden by a score of 3-1 in a penalty shootout.

US Women's Hockey is our Olympic women's hockey team. They're pretty good as the defeated the champion Canadians 3-1 on penalty shots. The Canadian Women's hockey team was the big boy on the block having won eight straight titles.

The funny thing is that we lost to the Canadians those eight straight times.

The US Women's Hockey program has been in existence for 15 years. The Canadians have been at it a little longer for 21 years.

On a trivial note the Russian team came in last place. Eighth out of eight teams.
