Kieran Richardson beats up the Americans - England beats US 2-1

In a match that features the US vs. England for the first time since 1994, it was apparent which team featured the future of soccer. Even though both teams weren't at full strength, the English beat the Americans 2-1.

The game wasn't as close as the score would demonstrate. The English team dominated through the match.

Even more embarrassing was the lack of support for the home team:

Except for one group of fans behind the south goal who held up a large American flag and a banner reading "Yank Army Don't Tread on Me," Soldier Field looked more like an English stadium. Banners featuring the English flag and various English teams — Everton, Leicester City and Tottenham Hotspur, just to name a few — covered every spare inch of the walls ringing the field and the first row of seats.

Landon Donovan played well, but missed two shots that could have turned the tide in the game.

The real story was Kieran Richardson. He scored on a free kick and from the penalty mark. Great shots.
