International Olympic Committee giving New York City another chance

In the business of the Olympics, the International Olympic Committee has a spotty history. In this case, the International Olympic Committee might give New York City another shot at a proposal.

All this is due to the fact that New York state government wouldn't approve a stadium deal for the Olympics.

I.O.C. spokeswoman Giselle Davies, said:

In such an exceptional circumstance as this, a bid city has the right to address the issue in front of the executive board.

This isn't a guarantee that the committee will allow the NYC 2012 folks to revise their bid, but there is hope.

Jay Kriegel, NYC2012 executive director said:

There was some confusion about what the rules allow. It was useful to get that point clarified.

NYC2012 isn't giving up, but the chance to host the 2012 Summer Olympics is a longshot.
