Gender bias in the olympics women's boxing not approved

Thank goodness. The Olympic officials have come to their senses and denied sports approval for women's boxing in the Olympics.

The International Olympic Commission had contemplated added women's boxing as a way to make the Olympics more gender neutral. There was a big push for making sure women had the same or near same amount of sports available to them.

They kicked baseball to the curb, because it didn't have a women's component. They couldn't do it to boxing, though.

IOC sports director Kelly Fairweather explained:

"The IOC did not feel it has reached the stage where it merits inclusion. We will watch the progress of women's boxing in the next few years."

Yeah, right. More than likely no one wanted to see women beating each other up when they're fully clothed, I guess. Silly rules get you silly explanations.
