Korea to unify ... for Olympics

Those wacky Koreans. Today it was announced that the Koreas will unify to send one team to the 2008 summer olympics in Bejing. The idea is that the spirit of cooperation will help draw the two nations closer. I'm not so sure about that.

Kim Sang-woo, secretary general of the Korean Olympic Committee thinks so:

The atmosphere and the building in confidence and trust have been taken to a significant level, and that is why the North feels it can trust the South to provide a very fair and acceptable agreement, which is the same case for South Korea as well.

While the athletes from both nations have marched together in the opening ceremonies, this would be the first time they have been on the same team.

Can you imagine the issues? Who selects the athletes? Where do they train? Who pays for it?
