When is a baseball poll a not a baseball poll?

The Associated Press ran a poll recently in which they touted the results. Not much to see, move along, right? Well, in this case, it pays to look at the facts.

The poll had some shocking conclusions including the following:

When you look at the survey you scratch your head, as some one the answers seem way off base. This is especially true about the umpires in light of their awful post-season performance.

As you look through the survey you'll notice that they asked 1,000 people at random across the United States. Fair enough. Out of those 1000, only 394 identified themselves as baseball fans.
