NFL Predictions Week 11 2005 - Bengals hang a loss on the Colts
Last week I went 6-8, and yes, I know I picked too many upsets. It was just brutal for me, as it dropped my cumulative percentage by 5 points! Here are the statistics so far:
Week 5 Predictions (14 games): 6-8 - 42%
Week 6 Predictions (14 games): 10-4 - 71%
Week 7 Predictions (14 games): 9-5 65%
Week 8 Predictions (14 games): 11-3 - 79%
Week 9 Predictions (14 games): 11-3 - 79%
Week 10 Predictions (14 games): 6-8 - 42%
Cumulative (84 games): 53-31 - 63%
Arizona at St. Louis
Kurt Warner is starting what will be probably his last game in the NFL. There's no way the Rams lose at home to the Cardinals, and there is no way Denny Green sticks with Warner after another loss. Kudos to Denny Green for letting Kurt come home and start. This will be a high scoring game thanks to the Warner passing and the awful St. Louis defense. Rams 37 - Cardinals 31.
Carolina at Chicago
I love this match up today, as I expect it to be one of the very very close games. The weather in Chicago isn't that nasty today, but it will be windy again. Chicago's defense is their weapon of choice, but the Panthers aren't too shabby either. You known that the Moosh man will be double teamed, and the Bears don't have any other answers at wide receiver. Against my better judgment I am picking the Bears to win. Bears 17 - Panthers 14.
Detroit at Dallas
Coming off an impressive win against the Cowboys, this could be a trap game for the Cowboys. Hahahaha. Ok, who am I kidding? You have Joe Harrington going against a tough Cowboys defense and Roy Williams. No way the Cowboys lose this one at home. Cowboys17 - Lions 13.
Jacksonville at Tennessee
The Jaguars are the team that just can't win the normal way this year. They struggle against the lower skilled teams, but then rise up to beat the better teams. Since the Titans are having an awful year, it's going to be a close game, but the Jaguars will pull it out. Jaguars 24 - Titans 21.
Miami at Cleveland
Two teams headed in two different direction. Miami is 3-6 and making the moves to become a better team. Cleveland is 3-6 and making the moves to become a worse team. The Dolphins could have lost this game had it been cold, but it'll be a balmy 50 degrees in Cleveland. Dolphins 24 - Browns 12.
New Orleans at New England
The Saints are a team who deserve a do over for the season, but this is the NFL and you don't get it. The Patriots are the walking wounded who find themselves starting an unknown running back this week. They will have an easy time with the Saints. Patriots 32 - Saints 17.
Oakland at Washington
This is a game I don't know what to make of. Both teams are well matched on paper, so it's going to be a fun game to watch. I think in the end the Redskins defense is going to come up big against the Raiders. Redskins 20 - Raiders 17.
Philadelphia at NY Giants
The Giants are super pissed. The Eagles are in a tail spin. The TO thing is still hanging over their heads as the hearing to end all hearings was held this week. Add to this that McNabb is out and Mike McMahon is in, and you have the makings of a blow out. Giants 42 - Eagles 24.
Pittsburgh at Baltimore
Tommy Maddox is the starter and Antwaan Randle El is the backup. I think we're going to see Antwaan Randle El throwing at some point today. Still, the Ravens can't move the ball well, and that's not going to change today. Steelers 17 - Ravens 10.
Tampa Bay at Atlanta
This is going to be the most physical game of the week. Both teams are 6-3 trying to keep pace with the Carolina Panthers. The Bucs are coming off that emotional win against the Redskins, while the Falcons are coming off the disappointing loss to the Packers. Can the Bucs contain Vick? I don't think so. Falcons 24 - Buccaneers 21.
Seattle at San Francisco
The lock of the week. Shawn Alexander will have a monster day as the 49ers lose another game by a large margin. Seahawks 37 - 49ers 17.
Buffalo at San Diego
Powder blues for the Chargers today. They don't play well with the powders, but they still have enough weapons at home to handle the Bills easily. Last week's win over the Chiefs was a fluke, so the Bills will lay down on this. Chargers 31 - Bills 20.
Indianapolis at Cincinnati
The game of the day and maybe the season. The undefeated Colts come into Paul Brown stadium to take on the Bengals. Will they be making the 100 mile trip home undefeated? No. Not a chance. The Bengals will pull off the upset today. Bengals 24 - Colts 23.
NY Jets at Denver
Denver is a buzz saw and the Jets are the wood. Herm Edwards is trying to keep his team together, but the Broncos are playing such good football now it's going to be impossible for the Jets to hang with them. Broncos 42 - Jets 17.
Kansas City at Houston
A rare Sunday night appearance for the Texans is exciting, but it won't help them beat the Chiefs. The Chiefs have too much offense for the Texans defense, even though they laid an egg last week in a loss to the Bills. Chiefs 35 - Texans 17.
Minnesota at Green Bay
Monday night. Brett Favre. At home. That should be enough to convince anyone that the Packers will win. Packers 29 - Vikings 24.
