NFL Predictions Week 9 2005 - Warner will surprise the Seahawks

Last week I went 11-3, the best week this season! Here are the statistics so far:

Week 5 Predictions (14 games): 6-8 - 42%

Week 6 Predictions (14 games): 10-4 - 71%

Week 7 Predictions (14 games): 9-5 65%

Week 8 Predictions (14 games): 11-3 - 79%

Cumulative (56 games): 36-20 - 65%

Atlanta at Miami
The Dolphins are a team in transition, and the Falcons are a team on the rise. I'm not sold on the Dolphins' offense, but I am sold of the Falcons' defense. This game isn't going to be close. Falcons 32 - Dolphins 15.

Carolina at Tampa Bay
I love Tampa Bay this year, but the egg they laid in San Francisco was scary. I think they'll bounce back, but they won't do it under Sims. Cadillac is playing, but he's still hurt. The Panthers are one of the better teams in the NFC, and seem to be hitting a rhythm on the offense. Panthers 17 - Buccaneers 10.

Cincinnati at Baltimore
People think that the Ravens will win this game, but they won't. The Ravens are missing Ray Lewis and their offense is MIA. The Bengals have too many weapons on both sides of the ball. The Bengals rushing defense is a concern, but they should be able to score against the Ravens. Bengals 28 - Ravens 10.

Detroit at Minnesota
Dante Culpepper is out for the year. A pissed of Joey Harrington is back for the Lions. I don't see a way for the Vikings to win this game, but they will be at home. This will be a close game and might be decided in the final minutes. Lions 24 - Vikings 21.

Houston at Jacksonville
Slam dunk of the week. I hope the Jaguars put the Texans in their place. Texans should be on a high since they got their first win last week, but the Jaguars are still upset they lost to the Rams. Davis is out for the Texans, and they have the worst pass defense in the league. Jaguars 42 - Texans 10.

Oakland at Kansas City
Priest is out, but Larry Johnson will romp. The Chiefs secondary is going to be torched all day, so don't expect this to be a defensive struggle. It's a must win game at this point in the season for the Chiefs. Chiefs 35 - Raiders 21.

San Diego at N.Y. Jets
Chargers will walk all over the Jets. Vinny won't have the tools, but LTD is going to rock the house. Do you really think the Jets can put the lid on Antonio Gates? Chargers 30 - Jets 17.

Tennessee at Cleveland
The battle of the suck teams. Dilfer is starting for the Browns, but McNair is out of wide receivers. This will be the most painful game to watch, but I am going with the Titans. I guess it's more out of disgust that Dilfer is still starting. Titans 24 - Browns - 13.

Chicago at New Orleans
I'd like to pick the Saints, but they suck. It's not so much the Bears are better, but their defense rocks. I wouldn't expect more from Orton that he had last week, but that's enough to win. Bears 17 - Saints 13.

N.Y. Giants at San Francisco
The lock of the week. The Giants won't fall into the same trap that the Buccaneers did last week. Giants 42 - 49ers 24.

Seattle at Arizona
This is the upset of the week. Kurt Warner is back and the Cardinals defense is ready for the bruising Seattle run game. This will come down to whether Warner can hit his receivers or not. I think he can. Cardinals 23 - Seahawks 17.

Pittsburgh at Green Bay
Big Ben is out, but the Steelers are playing the Packers. The Packers have more folks hurt than any other team in the league, so it's not going to be a win for them. But then it won't be a blowout for the Steelers. Steelers 17 - Packers 13.

Philadelphia at Washington
The TOless Eagles take on the Redskins who were embarrassed last week against the Giants. McNabb is hurt, and he's just one hard hit away from being out for the season. Redskins 24 - Eagles 17.
