Sports affiliate marketing and sales ... use any advantage
Must be a sports business kind of day. Four posts in a row tagged for the sports business category. I debated about putting this one in wacky, but sports business makes more sense. Our story today is about Johnny Lew's Sports.
If you stop by the site you'll notice it's an sports affiliate marketing site. Each of the pieces of merchandise are products sold by someone else that is then credited to Johnny Lew's. It's not a bad thing and many people have tried their hand at it.
But how do you stand out in sports affiliate sales?
You play the military card. Yep. Johnny Lew's sent out a press release that contained the following:
(PRWEB) June 17, 2005 -- Returning from two tours of duty to Iraq and Afghanistan Major John Lewandowski (USAFR) decided to pursue his passion, sports and owning a small business. He understood the same level of energy and non-stop adrenaline would be needed to start an on-line business.
Located in Western New York (WNY), Johnny Lew's Sports is flourishing. WNY is rich in sports culture with die hard Bills and Sabres fans. The Toronto Blue Jay's are not far away. The beauty of Johnny Lew's is it is 100% virtual. They ship anywhere in the country and serve NFL, NBA, NHL, MLB and NCAA sports fanatics. Because they don't maintain a brick and mortar store their overhead is low and they can offer products at great prices, most times below what a sports fan would pay at a local retail shop.
I had thought I'd seen everything in an attempt to draw traffic to sports affiliate sales sites, but this is a new one.
Good for John and hopefully his site makes some money for him. It's the least that can happen after his service to his country.
