What is the Sid Luckman offense

Sid Luckman became the master of the overhand soft pass. Probably the greatest all-around quarterback to ever play for Columbia University, Sid nevertheless achieved his real development with George Halas, Clark Shaughnessy and the Chicago Bears.

It was Sid Luckman who pitched that 73 to 0 shutout over the Washington Redskins in the World's Championship game of 1940. He won the Joe E. Carr Trophy in 1943 as the Most Valuable Player in the National Football League and upon his retirement was elected to the Helm's Athletic Foundation's Pro Hall Of Fame.
