Notable events from college football in the 1920s

1922 - Ball put in scrimmage on 5-yard line for try for extra point. Previously try for extra point was made from where scorer crossed goal line.

1924 - Kick-off made from middle of field. Players required to come to full stop on shift plays.

1925 - Victor of toss given choice of receiving kick-off or kicking-off to opponent; 40-yard line again restored as line of the kick-off. Clipping forbidden. Walter Camp died.

1926 - Penalty of down and loss of 5 yards imposed for incompleted forward passes after first one in same series of downs.

1927 - Goal posts set 10 yards back of goal line. Time limit of 30 seconds placed on putting ball in play after it was ready for play. Limit of 15 seconds placed on "huddle." Pause of 1 second imposed on shift. Fumbled punt declared a dead ball.

1929 - Run with fumble recovered by opposition prohibited. Try for point after touchdown made from scrimmage at 2-yard line.
