What was Vince Lombardi secret of success
Vince Lombardi first achieved fame as one of Fordham University's "Seven Blocks Of Granite." Always capable of handling opponents twice his own size Vince could have served anywhere as a player-coach. After his apprenticeship with the New York Giants he bade farewell to "Mara Tech" and built the Green Bay Packers back up to the previous emminence they had enjoyed under Curly Lambeau.
It is always more difficult to rebuild than it is to build new from the beginning, but Vince proved more than adequate for the task. The "togetherness" that he preaches for line play extends into every facet of "Life at Green Bay." Vince gives his men and their wives something worth fighting for. His book "Run To Daylight" tells only half the story. The other half can be read in the January 1966 headlines . . . World's Champions again!
