Allie Sherman No Offense
One day, the New York Giants' football coach Allie Sherman, during one of his team's less successful seasons, was late for a football luncheon at a hotel. He darted through a revolving door with such speed that he upended an old dignified gentleman in his path who happened to be heading for the same luncheon.
"No offense, sir," apologized coach Sherman.
"You're telling me!" roared the old gaffer, who happened to be a loyal Giant fan. "That's been your trouble all year long."
