Casey Stengal baseball practice
Once, when the Dodgers were in the midst of a long losing streak, Frenchy Bordagaray accidentally conked Manager Stengel on the head with a thrown ball during pre-game practice.
Casey was furious, but he let the matter pass for the moment. The Dodgers won that day.. After the game, Frenchy buttonholed Casey in the locker room.
"Casey," he said with dead-pan seriousness, "I think we can keep on winning if I hit you on the head every day for luck!"
