Jesse Petty sleeping on brooklyn bench
The old Brooklyn Dodgers were in the midst of a rally and Chick Fewster, who was sitting in the dugout next to Uncle Wilbert Robinson, enthusiastically grabbed a bat and began to pound away furiously on the steps in order to rattle the opposing pitcher.
"Stop that!" ordered Uncle Robbie.
Fewster looked at the eccentric rotund little manager in amazement. "Why?" he asked. "Ain't we got a rally going?"
Robbie nodded toward a corner of the Brooklyn bench where his star hurler, Jesse Petty, was slumbering soundly.
"I don't want you to wake up of Jess," he whispered.
