Yale Larry Kelley speaks english

One of Yale's immortals is Larry Kelley, All-American end of the 30' s, a clever, cocky, pass-snaring wonder who was as quick with a quip as he was with an interception. The light-hearted Larry was as talkative as they come, but he was unusually silent one day during the opening min utes of a game against the bruising behemoths of the University of Pennsylvania. One of the Red 'and Blue's big linemen who had heard a great deal about Kelley's line of chatter could hold himself in no longer.

As Kelley climbed to his feet after a rough scrimmage, the big Penn lineman said, "I thought you were supposed to be the gabby type, Kel ley. Cat got your tongue today?"

Kelley stared down his nose at the Penn man with an air of great surprise. "Oh, I didn't know," he exclaimed. "Do you guys speak English?"
