Yale princeton mery football running

The Yale-Princeton game of 1934 resulted in a thrilling 7-0 victory for the Elis, the only touchdown of the game coming on a pass that Kelley caught and carried over the goal line. A few days later, Ducky Pond, Yale coach, called the squad together to watch the movies of the contest. Pond ran one section of the film through in slow motion in order to show the action of one of the backs during th~ play that ended in the winning pass. Then he ran the same portion of film through again so that he could criticize. Not entirely satisfied, he did this three or four times. Finally Kelley, a bored and sleepy expr~ssion on his face, interrupted the flow of words.

"Have a heart,. coach," he yawned. "How about letting somebody else carry the ball?"
