Animals playing football - ants and elephants
A team of Ants was playing football against a team of Elephants. One of the Ant backs tried to go past an Elephant end with the ball and was crushed to death when the pachyderm stuck out a foot.
The crowd let out a howl of indignation and the referee blew his whistle and called time. Then he bawled out the offending player.
"What's the idea?" he yelled. "Why did you step on that poor little Ant and kill him?"
The big Elephant hung his head. "Aw, gee," he said, "I was only trying to trip him up." ,
