Babe herman stays cool while hot dodgers
Baseball has always had its share of eccentric characters, but none will be remembered longer or more fondly than Babe Herman, one-time hero of the daffy Brooklyn Dodgers.
It was a hot summer's day. Babe appeared in his hotel lobby elegantly attired in a suit of purest white silk. A young lady smiled at the great hero.
"My," she said, "how cool you look."
Babe blushed with embarrassment, then glanced at the sleeveless low- necked dress the young lady had on. "Thank you, miss," he gulped.
"You don't look so hot yourself."
