Ban Johnson's solution for shortening baseball games
Years ago, when Ban Johnson, president of the American League, and the first Czar of Baseball, canvassed all the big-league umpires for suggestions on how to keep baseball games from consuming too much time, it was tough Tim Hurst who put an end to all that nonsense.
His simple answer was: "Cut them to six innings."
