Don Budge was playing a tennis exhibition in Kansas with Frank Kovacs. Kovacs, a clown of the court, played in cowboy boots, chaps, spurs and ten-gallon Stetson. The audience fell into the mood, shouting "Yip pee!" af every shot and showering the court with small coins. Kovacs picked up the coins on his side' of the court and stuck them into his pocket.

Budge was annoyed with the antics of the crowd and his opponent. He finally came to the net and called across to Kovacs. "Hey," he asked, "you got any more good ideas?"

"Yeah," replied Kovacs as he eyed the coins scattered on Budge's side of the net, "let's change courts."
