Double bourbon horse racing

During the winter lay-off from racing, a fellow who owned some trotting horses was breezing one of his charges down a back road in the country one day. He stopped before a little tavern and stepped inside.

"What's yours?" asked the bartender politely.

"I'd like a double bourbon and a bucket," said the horseman. The bartender obliged, and the owner poured the bourbon into the bucket, added just a little water, then took it outside and served it to the shivering horse.

"That was a real nice thing to do," said the bartender when the man returned the empty bucket. "And I'd like to offer you a drink on the house. What'll it be?"

"Sorry, not for me," said the horse owner sadly. "I'm driving."
