Was John Lujack the fastest quarterback qb

John Lujack dazzled the Collegiate and Pro-Football circles of the late 40s and early 50s with his lightning passes. Under Frank Leahy's expert tutelage at Notre Dame, Johnny won All-American honors in both 1946 and 1947.

As the Chicago Bears "other" quarterback, he called plays so well and executed them so brilliantly that he and Sid Luckman were often paired in game assignments. Eventually he became number one with Sid Luckman's retirement. Johnny won the Heisman Trophy, the Maxwell Trophy and the Camp Trophy in 1947. He quarterbacked Notre Dame to two National Collegiate Football Championships two years in a row. ( 1946 and 1947. )
