Cheating boxing managers crooks
A certain fight manager who was notorious for his crookedness and mistreatment of his fighters walked into a little cafeteria near Times Square right after one of his boys had taken a terrible beating in the ring from an opponent who was much too good for him. The little character began to shoot his mouth off about what a wonderful guy he was and how much he had collected for the contest that evening. Not once did he mention the boy who still lay battered and bleeding on a table in a Madison Square Garden dressing room. The counterman looked at the mug with a sour expression and asked him what he wanted.
"Gimme a hunk 0' apple pie," said the leech. "An' cawfee." He paused, then plunged. "And an order 0' cheese."
The counterman nodded. "How'll ya have the cheese," he asked gently, "on the pie or in a trap?"
