It's been a hard year for Americans at the French Open. Today saw Venus Williams getting her ass kicked by an unknown 15 year old.

The unknown 15 year old who beat Venus Williams is Sesil Karatantcheva from Bulgaria. She is the daughter of national champions. Sesil Karatantcheva's dad was a rowing national champion and her mom was a volleyball national champion.

Sesil Karatantcheva is currently ranked 98th in the world. Venus Williams is ranked much higher. Like 90 positions higher.

Venus Williams always has a compliment for an opponent:

"I had never heard of her before this match. She played well, definitely. But I also felt like if I just played 10 percent better, I'm going to win this match easily."

"She really didn't play her best tennis. I definitely don't think it was the Venus Williams I watch on TV and I see when I started out. But for me, I did give what I could give. I like that I won, no matter what."
