Mali soccer fans went nuts. They looted and burnt cars after rushing the field during a world cup qualifier against Togo.
First, like you, I had no idea where Mali was located. I had some idea of Togo.
Second, they rushed the field after Togo went up 2-1 in injury time. The game was pretty much over anyway.
Togo was given the win and the African title.
Things aren't looking any better for the Mali players. According to the AP, last Monday the Prime Minister of Mali, Ousmane Issoufi Maiga said:
All the consequences of the players' acts will backfire.
